1265-press-release-and-article1Winter Park, FL – The prestigious women’s magazine, Vogue Magazine, sponsored Cover Girl makeovers at 14 Florida market Walgreens stores. The professional makeup artists were demonstrating the new Lash Blast Mascara and promoted the Magazine’s latest sweepstakes – a chance to win an Andrew Marc Salina Handbag – by distributing trend sheets to attendees.

The event offered customers a wonderful Cover Girl gift-with-purchase cosmetic bag, which helped sell over 152 pieces during the event – a 62% closure rate. A survey conducted during the event showed that a whopping 81% of customers surveyed had used Cover Girl before and 99% of them wanted more makeover events at Walgreen’s. Over 59% of the customers were within the target age group (25-50) of the brand and magazine.

1265-press-release-and-article-11Cosmetic Promotions, a promotional and marketing company based in Central Florida executed the event. They handle many programs for magazines at retail stores. Their trained makeup artists have a minimum of 2 years experience applying makeup and execute events all over the United States. The magazines offer the makeovers as a bonus to their clients who purchase more pages in the publications.

“Customers were thrilled with the event, these are good results” says Rachael Cohn, Beauty Promotion Director from Vogue Magazine.

Posted in Demonstrations, Recent Events, sales, Sampling, Survey Results on April 19th, 2010 by Sara Dixon – Comments Off on CoverGirl Demonstration at Walgreens

Cover Girl Lash Blast Length was the product demonstrated at the eventSouth Florida Walgreens (March 6, 2010) – CosPro Agency recently held another successful demonstration at Walgreens locations across southern Florida. The event promoted and demonstrated the new CoverGirl Lash Blast Length mascara in order to amplify product sales and create product awareness.

The product was incredibly well received by consumers. Fourteen stores sold 152 pieces averaging eleven pieces sold, per store, in only four hours! The closure rate was very high; for every three makeovers done, two of those made purchases. Over sixty percent of customers made purchases that day and thirty percent said they will definitely be purchasing Lash Blast Length in the near future. In addition, twenty percent of the customers didn’t know the product beforehand so it was a great event for product awareness. With the chance to try a new product before buying, an enticing gift-with-purchase and knowledgeable demonstrators to help customers make educated decisions – this event was a hit!

Additionally, at least one beauty advisor per store was trained on the product and will be able to assist customers for future sales. And almost all (99%!) of the customers agreed that they enjoyed the event and would love to see more product demonstrations and sampling.

Having fun in the Walgreen’s beauty department is not just restricted to us non-celebrities. Popular daytime talk show host Bonnie Hunt devoted an entire segment of her show to her love of shopping at Walgreens for her cosmetics. “You know that I talk about going to Walgreens all the time to get my makeup…And I’ve been doing that since I was a teenager…And I still go there, I still get my CoverGirl and stuff”.

On the show she took her friend Holly with her flip video so she could see how fun it was to shop at Walgreens, and they happened to go on their Saturdate weekend, which is a Saturday that Walgreens devotes every month to beauty. Beauty advisors teach customers about products and treat them to samples and coupons. The video was hilarious and Sally, the Walgreens beauty advisor on duty good naturedly entertained all of their questions.

At that same store (and 200 other top Walgreen’s stores), there is going to be a big event for Coty Fragrances in celebration of Mother’s Day. On May 9th and 23rd  a demonstrator will be there distributing samples and spritzing customers with the new Halle Berry Fragrance as well as Celine, and Nautica Bermuda Blue. Customers can sign up to win a great Fragrance Basket at each store and there is also a gift with purchase opportunity. Customers  can also enter to win a $50 Walgreens gift card from the Bonnie Hunt Show at

Cosmetic Promotions NEW Warehouse and Program!

Posted in Cosmetic Promotions News on January 26th, 2009 by admin – Comments Off on Cosmetic Promotions NEW Warehouse and Program!

Cosmetic Promotions, Inc has expanded operations again and has added more warehouse space. The new space is in Orlando and has been renovated to meet the collating and fulfullment needs of the company which have grown due to their new program at Walgreens – the Walgreens Beauty Box.

The Beauty Box program is a collated kit sent monthly to all stores that contains the materials the Beauty Advisors need for that month. Kits include samples, coupons, testers and training from various vendors. Kits created by CPI for the vendors include the opportunity for Beauty Advisors to win prizes by taking one of the continuing education quizzes that are enclosed with the kits. The quizzes are on a prepaid business reply postcard that comes back to CPI where it is graded and winners are randomly chosen.

The program replaces the previous system of vendors having to send their information via the mailroom at a much higher cost and less efficiency for the chain. Vendors who want to participate can choose from the option of creating their own kits and sending them to CPI to be included in the box or allowing CPI to design and print their kits for them. Participation fees are just $3,000 per 8 oz (plus printing costs if CPI is printing their kits).

The new system also relieves Walgreen’s Manager of Cosmetic Marketing and Services, Carrie Pecher, of having to deal individually with each vendor which was very time consuming.
