CoverGirl Point Plus Eyeliner

Posted in Product Reviews on March 9th, 2009 by Kristen Jason – Comments Off on CoverGirl Point Plus Eyeliner

Eyeliners have long filled our makeup bags, but the CoverGirl Point Plus Eyeliner caught our attention.  It’s self-sharpening AND it’s supposed to glide on easily.  Many self sharpening eyeliners hardly glide; they more so drag on your eyelid. And then there are the self sharpening eyeliners that are too soft, so it breaks when you sharpen it.  We gave the CoverGirl eyeliner a try and we were impressed.  No snagged eyelids and no running eyeliner.  The eyeliner lasts and it’s unique design allows you to make perfect lines.  Our favorite was the grey khaki shade; it’s flattering on most eye colors but is a must have if you have hazel eyes.

The Bonus: There’s a smudge tip at the other side of the eyeliner for a natural, softer look.

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Highlight & Contour Blush

It’s a terrible feeling when you buy the blush that’s the perfect color, only to put it on and look like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations. All blushes are not created equal. If the blush is not finely milled enough, it will just sit on top of your skin and look clownish.

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Highlight and Contour Blush is the best blush we’ve seen for at its price point. As you know Wet n Wild is one of the most affordable cosmetic brands out there, so we didn’t anticipate the high end department store quality of this product. There are 3 shades in each blush triade (4 triades are available), and you can use the coordinating shades to contour and highlight for model cheekbones. We incorporated this product in our quick, no fuss, morning routine by just blending all of the colors together and using it as regular blush. But it’s nice to know that we can also get a sculpted look from the product.

This blush went on naturally; they really named it “silk finish” with good reason. It’s also long lasting. We recommend this product for blush amateurs just starting out, it’s really hard to mess up with the application. We give this product an A+ and we’re wondering if it would be overkill to buy all the shades…

CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Concealer

Posted in Industry Trends, Product Reviews on February 25th, 2009 by Kristen Jason – Comments Off on CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Concealer

Those of us with oily skin were feeling left out..It seems that most of the concealers of the world were designed for dry skin. So what’s a girl to do that has the misfortune of combination/oily skin AND dark circles? From our search we found CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Concealer.

This concealer lasts all day, so you won’t look like a raccoon when the work day is over. This formula is lightweight and transfer resistant; we liked the way it didn’t interfere with our eyeshadow and eyeliner. The best part is that since it won’t clog pores you can use it on blemishes as well.

Tip: This is a lightweight formula, it works by diffusing light instead of heavily covering the problem areas. If you want a more heavy duty effect, use underneath your foundation.
