Yet another reason that our feelings our hurt that Max Factor won’t be available in U.S. stores in 2010. Max Factor’s ColorGenius Foundation is what we’ve been looking for. It’s lightweight, but it provides full coverage. The formula is mineral enriched, and has a ‘patented smart pigment technology’. So what does that mean to you? Even if it’s not the perfect shade for your skin, after application the foundation will adjust to your color. Best of all, it’s designed for sensitive skin.

CoverGirl Make-up Masters Sponge Wedges

Posted in Product Reviews on July 20th, 2009 by Kristen Jason – Comments Off on CoverGirl Make-up Masters Sponge Wedges

All makeup sponges are not created equal. From experience we know that the dollar store brand sponges take off your makeup more so than they blend it. We trust CoverGirl Make-up Masters Sponge Wedges. The texture is perfect for putting your foundation on smoothly and evenly. You get a pack of 6 but the sponges are reusable; just wash with every use.

Even foundation that’s blended in properly gives a natural look. If you really want to keep a natural glow, we suggest only using powder on the chin, forehead, and sides of the nose after your foundation.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Liquid Makeup

Posted in Product Reviews on April 15th, 2009 by Kristen Jason – Comments Off on Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Liquid Makeup

It’s no secret that mineral makeup is great for the skin. Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Liquid Makeup not only has vitamins and minerals to nourish your skin, it has an SPF 20 to protect it as well. This foundation can be very subtle, or can be built up to medium coverage.

The brush on this foundation is truly a help for the makeup challenged; it makes application precise and blends flawlessly. You just turn it like you would a self- sharpening eyeliner, and the product flows into the brush!

Neutrogena infused this foundation with minerals and antioxidants to improve the texture and clarity of our skin. We noticed an improvement after a week of use.

Those of you with problem skin will be especially happy to know that this foundation is oil and fragrance free.

Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup

Posted in Product Reviews on February 26th, 2009 by Kristen Jason – Comments Off on Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup

It’s easy to get tired of the foundation game. Saleswomen will tell you, “try it on your wrist, the nape of the neck gives you the best match, try it on all over your face, go outside and see it in natural light” etc. The fact is, it’s difficult to find a foundation that perfectly matches your skin. Especially considering no one human is the same color year-round.

So this is why we are celebrating Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup. We were skeptical when we read the back of the tube “Patented ingredients make with innovative micro-color beads adjust to your exact skin tone upon application”. But we discovered this description wasn’t science fiction after all. It’s fun to use. There are only 5 shades to choose from, so all you have to do is know what category you’re in. It was entertaining to see the white formula change to the EXACT color of our complexion.

The end result is that you look like you don’t have any make up on, but this formula is thick enough to even out skin tone and cover imperfections. It’s pretty long lasting, we did not have to reapply during the day.

The verdict? This foundation is a must for natural gals. If you’re looking for some major cover up, we suggest you try their Color Stay or Age Defying makeup. For a whole list of Revlon’s foundations go to http://www.revlon.com/ProductCatalog/SubCategory.aspx?CategoryID=1&SubCategoryID=3
