When you’re tired, adding a touch of shimmer eyeshadow on the inner corner of the eyes can make you look refreshed. A golden color is great for darker complexions, and for pale complexions try a silvery shade. We really liked the 50 Sunlit Bronze Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quad for the summer. Each shadow is marked with the best part of the eye to apply the colors. Best of all, it’s crease and fade resistant, a must in this hot weather.
We were first drawn to Maybelline Shine Seduction Glossy Lipcolor by the slick modern packaging and unique applicator tip. However, we were pleased to see that what’s inside is just as great. We tried this 2007 Best of Beauty Award winning lip gloss in shade 720 Sunkissed. It’s a universally flattering bronze color that goes on sheer, while the formula’s aqua botanicals and Vitamin E helps keep lips smooth. Another bonus is that the gloss is light weight and non sticky.
All makeup sponges are not created equal. From experience we know that the dollar store brand sponges take off your makeup more so than they blend it. We trust CoverGirl Make-up Masters Sponge Wedges. The texture is perfect for putting your foundation on smoothly and evenly. You get a pack of 6 but the sponges are reusable; just wash with every use.

This shadow is also easy to blend and layer; our favorite shade was 180 Emerald Coast. Stock up now, Max Factor products will not be sold in the United States anymore starting next year!
If only all mascara tubes were the same as Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Washable Mascara! The innovative tube makes it so the brush has the perfect amount of mascara, so you can keep adding layers without getting clumps. Best of all, when you wash your face at night you don’t have to scrub your eyes or use elaborate makeup removers. This mascara comes out with regular soap and water. The mascara brush is especially shaped to help you define even the smallest lashes.

We will miss seeing Max Factor in stores in the U.S., but fortunately, it’s a top seller in countries such as the United Kingdom and Russia.
In the summer’s hot weather, your oil glands go into overdrive, dissolving foundation way before you get home. To keep your foundation in place, we recommend Revlon’s Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer. Put it on after your moisturizer and before your foundation. The result is an all day flawless look. This product is great for women with oily skin as well women who want anti aging benefits. The gel primer minimizes the appearance of pores AND wrinkles. We thought our skin looked less oily than normal at the end of the day and our foundation was still intact. The fragrance is pleasant but light.
Obvious makeup has no place poolside or at the beach. For women that HAVE to wear something, there is Revlon’s Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil. These soft pencils are very soft and easy to blend. If you’re into bronzer you’ll really like Shade 610 Brown. It’s a light bronze color that goes very well with neutral makeup.
Everyone likes the way lipgloss looks, but it fades fast. Revlon’s first longwearing lipgloss, ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze, lasts for up to 8 hours. We tried it out and found that it didn’t wear off during the day, even after a lunch. More importantly, it didn’t strip our lips of moisture like typical long wearing formulas tend to.
