Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup

It’s easy to get tired of the foundation game. Saleswomen will tell you, “try it on your wrist, the nape of the neck gives you the best match, try it on all over your face, go outside and see it in natural light” etc. The fact is, it’s difficult to find a foundation that perfectly matches your skin. Especially considering no one human is the same color year-round.

So this is why we are celebrating Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup. We were skeptical when we read the back of the tube “Patented ingredients make with innovative micro-color beads adjust to your exact skin tone upon application”. But we discovered this description wasn’t science fiction after all. It’s fun to use. There are only 5 shades to choose from, so all you have to do is know what category you’re in. It was entertaining to see the white formula change to the EXACT color of our complexion.

The end result is that you look like you don’t have any make up on, but this formula is thick enough to even out skin tone and cover imperfections. It’s pretty long lasting, we did not have to reapply during the day.

The verdict? This foundation is a must for natural gals. If you’re looking for some major cover up, we suggest you try their Color Stay or Age Defying makeup. For a whole list of Revlon’s foundations go to

CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Concealer

Posted in Industry Trends, Product Reviews on February 25th, 2009 by Kristen Jason – Comments Off on CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Concealer

Those of us with oily skin were feeling left out..It seems that most of the concealers of the world were designed for dry skin. So what’s a girl to do that has the misfortune of combination/oily skin AND dark circles? From our search we found CoverGirl Fresh Complexion Concealer.

This concealer lasts all day, so you won’t look like a raccoon when the work day is over. This formula is lightweight and transfer resistant; we liked the way it didn’t interfere with our eyeshadow and eyeliner. The best part is that since it won’t clog pores you can use it on blemishes as well.

Tip: This is a lightweight formula, it works by diffusing light instead of heavily covering the problem areas. If you want a more heavy duty effect, use underneath your foundation.

Blog Aquafresh Whitening Trays

Coffee, tea, red wine, and soda. These are the things that we are supposed to avoid to keep our pearly whites from yellowing. Unfortunately, most of us don’t, making tooth whitening tooth one of the most popular dental procedures in the U.S. For those who aren’t ready to spend hundreds at the dentist for whiter teeth, there is a bunch of home whitening kits around.

We’ve tried plenty of home whitening systems that caused tooth sensitivity to heat and cold. So we were excited to try out Aqua Fresh White Trays Pro-Gentle System. You whiten for 30-45 minutes just once daily for up to 7 days using dental trays. If you are like us and like minimal effort, you’ll be happy to know that the trays come pre-filled with a hydrogen peroxide gel. Even better, the gel has a minty taste. Aqua Fresh was realistic in this sense: they realize that people inadvertently get a taste of the whitening gel even though you’re not supposed to.

The Results? After just 3 days we had a brighter smile and no tooth sensitivity! You get more than enough Aquafresh Sensitive toothpaste, about 3 weeks worth (which is great for people who have sensitive teeth to begin with). Our tip is to not talk on the phone with this product; you won’t sound particularly alluring and it feels strange. We are back to our coffee, tea, red wine, and soda but take comfort in that we can whiten again without sacrificing cold ice cream and hot tea.

December Fragrance Sampling Event Results in 4:1 ROI

Holiday sales for the retail industry showed flat at best, with an average of a negative 5.5 to 8% overall. However, one bright spot was a fragrance sampling event at JC Penney’s that was executed by CosPro Agency (headquarters Orlando, FL) nationwide.

The event was held in 400 of the number three department store chain’s locations the two weekends before Christmas. Each store had a professional demonstrator hired and trained by the CosPro Agency there to help shoppers choose fragrance Christmas gifts while sampling the newest and hottest scents. Each four hour event averaged sales of over 17 pieces of product and the two weekend’s sales totaled over $250,000 in register rings. This resulted in an almost 4:1 immediate return on the manufacturer’s investment in this event. Over 55,000 customers received a sample or were sprayed which will result in more sales the following weeks. Typically a retailer can expect as much as a 10% lift in sales the weeks after such an event.
